The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) has announced a new initiative for all Mexicans: a free online English course with certification.
In the globalized world we live in, English has become an essential skill for communication and success.
With over one billion native speakers and being the official language of many countries, its importance is reflected in multiple areas, from communication and business to education, science, and technology.
Learning English is not only an advantage, but also a gateway to a world of opportunities. It facilitates interaction with people from all over the world, access to resources and information in English, and improves academic and professional prospects.
UNAM has launched this free online course for university students and the general public, available on the Ambiente Virtual de Idiomas (AVI) platform.
This program covers all fundamental linguistic skills: reading, writing, listening comprehension, and speaking.
It is divided into four clearly defined sections: Practice, for interactive activities that strengthen these skills; Evaluate, which allows students to measure their progress with placement tests; Learn, which provides materials to acquire new skills and concepts; and Get Certified, where students can obtain an official certification of their English level.
In addition, the course is adapted to different levels, from A1 to C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Accessing this course is easy and free. Interested parties can register on the AVI platform of UNAM, without any prior requirements.
It is important to mention that certification is only accessible and FREE for UNAM students. If you are not a student, you can access one of the remaining sections.
