Acquiring one’s own home is a dream that many aspire to, and the National Workers’ Housing Fund Institute (Infonavit) has been a crucial ally in making this dream a reality.
By offering mortgage loans, housing advice, financial education, and legal counseling services, Infonavit has paved the way for individuals to purchase, build, improve, or remodel a home according to their needs and financial possibilities.
However, the process of obtaining a housing loan can be challenging as it involves various factors and requirements.
Until now, applicants needed to accumulate 1080 points and maintain an active contribution as workers. But now, Infonavit has introduced a new requirement aimed at streamlining and enhancing the process of acquiring mortgage loans.
Now, housing loan applicants must complete an online course called “Knowing More to Decide Better.”
This course provides valuable information that will help beneficiaries make informed decisions throughout the mortgage loan application process.
The course will cover a variety of essential topics, such as proper credit usage, prequalification, the necessary steps for applying for a mortgage loan, creating a financial budget, the benefits of the “Unamos Crédito Infonavit” program, recommendations for land purchases, and an understanding of the rights and obligations of beneficiaries.
The highlight of this initiative is that the course is completely free and consists of multiple modules designed to provide information effectively.
To access this valuable resource, interested individuals should follow these simple steps:
- Log in to the “Mi Cuenta Infonavit” portal and register using their Social Security Number (NSS), Unique Population Registry Code (CURP), and email address.
- Once registered, go to the “Apply for my loan” section and select “Prequalification and points.”
- Choose the option that best suits your needs, whether it’s purchasing a home, acquiring land, or building your own home.
- Access the “Knowing More to Decide Better” course through the link in the lower menu.
Upon completing all the course modules, you can download a certificate that will be valid for one year from the issuance date.
This certificate becomes an essential requirement to advance in the process of applying for a housing loan through Infonavit.
